AEW Grand Slam made its way to Brisbane, Australia, on February 15, 2025, delivering an action-packed night at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. The event aired on a same-day tape delay at 10:30 PM ET on TNT and MAX, following NBA All-Star Saturday coverage. The card was stacked with marquee matchups, including title defenses, tag team clashes, and a brutal Brisbane Brawl.

The evening began with AEW President Tony Khan addressing the crowd. Despite mixed reactions initially, Khan won over the audience by promising that this would be one of the greatest nights in AEW history and assuring fans that AEW would return to the area in the future. The crowd erupted in cheers, setting the tone for the night.

The first match featured Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega teaming up to take on Konosuke Takeshita and Kyle Fletcher. The crowd was electric from the start, chanting “Holy sh—!” before the bell even rang. Ospreay received overwhelming support, with fans singing and chanting in his favor. The match was a fast-paced, high-energy affair, with Ospreay and Fletcher trading hard chops and Omega and Takeshita battling on the floor. The crowd erupted in an “AEW” chant as all four competitors ended up on the mat after a flurry of moves. Ospreay and Omega secured the win after hitting a devastating One-Winged Angel/Hidden Blade combo on Takeshita.

Next, Mercedes Mone defended her TBS Championship against Harley Cameron. Cameron, representing Australia, was the crowd favorite, while Mone was met with resounding boos. The match was a back-and-forth battle, with Cameron nearly securing the win after a Destroyer and flying bodypress. However, Mone retained her title with a Money Maker, much to the disappointment of the crowd.

The Brisbane Brawl saw Adam Copeland and Jay White take on Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli in a chaotic and brutal match. The action spilled into the audience, with Copeland taking several wild bumps, including a dive from the second level of the arena. Interference from Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir led to a controversial finish, with Moxley refusing to release a chokehold even after the bell rang, prompting the crowd to chant “Bullsh—!”

The main event featured Mariah May defending the AEW Women’s Championship against Toni Storm. May was heavily booed, while Storm’s grand entrance, complete with Luther the Butler dressed as a theater usher, set the stage for a dramatic match. The two competitors went straight at each other, with Storm hitting several suplexes and May responding with a spinning backbreaker. Storm ultimately emerged victorious, hitting her finishing move to win the title and sending the crowd into a frenzy.

The night concluded with the crowd buzzing, solidifying AEW Grand Slam as a historic event. Fans left the arena chanting “AEW!” and eagerly anticipating the promotion’s return to Australia.
