The October 23, 2024 episode of AEW Dynamite will broadcast live from the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, promising another thrilling night of action as storylines from AEW WrestleDream and beyond continue to evolve.
One of the most anticipated segments of the night involves Mark Briscoe and Chris Jericho. Briscoe retained his Ring of Honor World Championship at WrestleDream, defeating Jericho in a heated battle that saw him utilize his late brother Jay Briscoe’s signature finisher to secure the win. Jericho, refusing to let the loss go, has been relentlessly taunting Briscoe by bringing up Jay in an effort to secure a rematch. Briscoe, incensed by the disrespect, has challenged Jericho to a Ladder War, setting the stage for what could be an even more brutal encounter.
In a separate storyline, HOOK is out for revenge after an unseen attack on his father, Taz, left the wrestling legend sidelined before AEW Dynamite’s 5th anniversary. Thanks to security camera footage, HOOK has identified the attacker, and the revelation is expected on tonight’s show.
Elsewhere, Daniel Garcia and Private Party (Isiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) will square off against The Elite (Jack Perry and The Young Bucks) in a six-man tag match. This bout follows Garcia’s vocal displeasure with The Elite’s perceived lack of leadership in the ongoing conflict with Jon Moxley’s group.
The House of Black will also be in action tonight, continuing their dominant streak after dismantling their opponents on AEW Collision. Meanwhile, fans are awaiting another possible promo from Kyle Fletcher, who still hasn’t explained his betrayal of Will Ospreay. Will tonight finally bring clarity to the situation, or will Fletcher continue to dodge the subject?
Additionally, Sammy Guevara will face Shelton Benjamin in singles action, following Guevara’s challenge to prove himself against the best. Kamille is also set to take on Queen Aminata, just one week before her clash with Kris Statlander on AEW Friday Night Dynamite.
With so much at stake and several storylines nearing boiling points, this episode of AEW Dynamite is not to be missed!
