AEW delivered a thrilling evening of wrestling action tonight as it taped the November 16, 2024, episode of Collision from the MVP Arena in Albany, NY. With Full Gear just around the corner, the night set the stage for heated rivalries and major storylines. The episode will air Saturday at 8 PM ET.
Mina Shirakawa opened the show with a spectacular victory over Harley Cameron, finishing her with the Glamorous Driver. The match showcased Mina’s charm and skill, with the Albany crowd fully behind her.
Daniel Garcia claimed a decisive win against Johnny TV, forcing him to submit to the Cobra Clutch. The match took an unexpected turn when Jack Perry ambushed Daddy Magic at the commentary table, escalating tensions as he dragged him backstage.
Shelton Benjamin, managed by MVP, overpowered Komander in a competitive matchup. Benjamin’s powerslam sealed the victory, but the drama escalated post-match. MVP ordered Benjamin to unmask Komander, but Alex Abrahantes rushed in to intervene, only to be taken out by MVP. Komander’s mask ultimately remained intact, leaving fans buzzing.
Powerhouse Hobbs demonstrated his unmatched strength by defeating Bear Bronson with the Argentine Backbreaker (torture rack). Despite the support of his allies Beefcake Boulder and Jacked Jamison, Bronson couldn’t overcome Hobbs’ dominance.
The Acclaimed earned their spot in the 4-Way Tag Team title match at Full Gear with a victory over Rush and Beast Mortos. Anthony Bowens sealed the win with the Mic Drop on Mortos. Pre-match, Max Caster entertained the crowd with a fiery rap, taking a jab at Kamala Harris’ election loss.
Backstage, FTR teased a new direction during an interview with Lexy Nair. They hinted at challenging The Outrunners for the AEW World Tag Team titles, with Dax Harwood declaring it was time for a fresh start.
The main event saw Mariah May retain her AEW Women’s World Championship in a brutal no-disqualification match against Anna Jay. The hard-hitting bout featured weapons galore, including ladders, barbed wire, and a metal guard rail. Mariah secured the win with Storm Zero onto a steel chair. Afterward, Mina Shirakawa joined Mariah in the ring for a celebration, building anticipation for their Champagne Celebration at Full Gear.
Jon Moxley closed the night with a chilling video promo directed at Orange Cassidy. Calling Cassidy a “cold-blooded snake,” Moxley highlighted his ruthless takedown of Chuck Taylor and questioned Cassidy’s ability to handle the pressure. He promised to solidify his legacy at Full Gear and issued a warning to anyone unwilling to match his brutal wrestling style: “Leave.”
