The January 15 2025 edition of AEW Dynamite will broadcast live from the Andrew J. Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has unveiled the full card and planned segments for this week’s show.
Kenny Omega makes his return to AEW after recovering from diverticulitis surgery. He will face Brian Cage, who shared his excitement about the bout on social media. Cage described this match as a dream come true and a chance to showcase his best work. In a video, he stated that if Omega is “The Cleaner,” then he is the “Delivery Man” because he always delivers in the ring. He emphasized that their encounter will be a battle of machines and highlighted that opening the broadcast would minimize commercial interruptions.
Powerhouse Hobbs emerged victorious in the Casino Gauntlet Match on AEW Dynamite, earning a shot at Jon Moxley’s championship. Hobbs defeated several prominent AEW stars, including Hangman Adam Page, Jay White, Ricochet, Adam Cole, Jeff Jarrett, and Kyle O’Reilly. He secured the win with a spinebuster on O’Reilly. Afterward, Hobbs addressed the crowd and promised to defeat Moxley, even calling him out in a bold statement. Despite his confidence, Hobbs is considered an underdog heading into his first AEW Championship Match, which takes place in Moxley’s hometown of Cincinnati.
The episode also features the in-ring AEW debut of MVP, alongside Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley as The Hurt Syndicate. They’ll face AEW Tag Team Champions Private Party and Mark Briscoe in a Trios match. This matchup was announced after The Hurt Syndicate interrupted Private Party’s celebration, with MVP predicting championship gold for Lashley and Benjamin. The bout was confirmed during AEW Collision and adds another high-stakes element to the show.
HOOK continues his feud with Brian Cage and The Patriarchy, a rivalry that began when the group attacked Taz in October. HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata suffered a loss to Cage and Nick Wayne in December, but HOOK rebounded with a win against Wayne at AEW Rampage: New Year’s Smash. He has vowed to settle the score with Cage, making their upcoming encounter another highly anticipated clash.
