The September 28, 2024 episode of AEW Collision continues the AEW Grand Slam excitement, pre-taped at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York. The show opened with Jack Perry successfully defending his TNT Championship against Minoru Suzuki, but Perry’s post-match assault on Suzuki prompted Katsuyori Shibata to intervene and make the save. Brody King picked up a win over Action Andretti in singles action, but after the match, Top Flight stepped in to stop King from further attacking Andretti. In a thrilling tornado trios match, The Learning Tree—comprising Chris Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith—triumphed over The Conglomeration team of Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Mark Briscoe. Jamie Hayter secured a victory against Saraya in a heated Saraya’s Rules Match, while Hangman Adam Page defeated Jeff Jarrett in a brutal Lumberjack Strap Match.
More action followed as Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, and Wheeler Yuta successfully defended their AEW World Trios Championship against Komander and Private Party. In a three-way match, Hologram emerged victorious over Beast Mortos and Dralistico, with a post-match brawl breaking out between Mortos and Dralistico, followed by an appearance from Rush, who joined the chaos. The night wrapped up with the AEW Continental Championship eliminator match, where Kazuchika Okada eliminated Sammy Guevara to advance, cementing his position as a title contender.
